I needed the bookends to hold together children's books of all different sizes that easily fall over on my son's shelf. The shelf is very slippery but these bookends were large enough and had a wide enough base to hold the books up. The only thing that would have made it better is a non-skid base. But since I did not find any like that this was the next best thing. Pros:Can Withstand UseCons:Needs a rubber baseI would recommend this item to a friend.
